Train with us

Train and find employment at Turku Shipyard

Is a career as a shipbuilding professional one of your dreams? Meyer Turku’s Shipbuilding School arranges several types of training in cooperation with our shipyard’s subsidiaries and partners.

Conversion training for people making a career change

Conversion training with pay is a safe and excellent way to change careers. The four-month training period is intended for people with an interest in marine industry design work who already have technical training. We’re looking for naval architects for our Meyer Turku shipyard and our network companies. Applicants do not need previous experience in the marine industry. The training is provided in Finnish, so Finnish language skills are a requirement.

Recruitment training for people who are unemployed or at risk of losing their jobs

Labour policy recruitment training is an easy way to train for a new career. Training with a working life orientation provides students with the qualifications for a specific job or profession. A person applying for recruitment training must be unemployed (when the training begins) or at risk of losing their job (for example, due to layoffs or co-determination negotiations). The training lasts for six months, and it includes supervised on-the-job learning and work practice as well as knowledge-based teaching. The training is provided in Finnish, so Finnish language skills are a requirement. Those who pass the training have the chance to get a job working with the world’s best ships!
