The ships we build are recognised around the world for their advanced technology and modern design. Our order book for cruise ships still extends quite far – there are seven cruise ships for four different shipping companies in our order book. That’s why we’re constantly looking for we need new experts to work on our ship projects at Meyer Turku Oy and with our subsidiaries Shipbuilding Completion Oy, ENG’nD Oy and Piikkio Works Oy again in the future.
Current situation at the shipyard
The corona pandemic has affected the cruising markets globally. Together with our customers, we have agreed to stretch the order book. This means that instead of a further ramp-up, Turku shipyard will in the future build one large cruise ship per year. No further ramp-up also means temporary decrease in new recruitments. Still, there are seven cruise ships in our order book for four different shipping companies, which secures a sustainable future for Finnish cruise ship building.
